On Friday evening, I listened to the end of A Point of View; Will Self pontificating about the pointlessness of theory and its uses in the humanities, and the pointlessness of academic interrogation, culminating in his usual polemic stance, which is currently anti-humanties; he literally rubbished them; this is ironic, since virtually everybody is writing;
